Control and modification possibility of all entries of the total data set of an element

SettingDescription
El-No Number of the current element
Switches
SettingDescription
CS type Cross-section is defined as database object with full geometry
CS-Val Cross section values in the element table are directly entered
Material The material is defined as database object and assigned to the element
E-G The statically relevant material parameters are directly defined
Eccentricity
SettingDescription
Ex-Beg, Ey-Beg, Ez-Beg User defined eccentricity at element begin
Ex-End, Ey-End, Ez-End User defined eccentricity at element end
  • Sign: From the element to the node in global coordinate directions
EccTyp Type of the cross-section eccentricity
  • YoZo: no cross-section eccentricity considered (reference point = CG)
  • YlZo: cross-section eccentricity in y direction considered
  • YoZl: cross-section eccentricity in z direction considered
  • YlZl: cross-section eccentricity in y and z direction considered
Aero Assigned aero class (set of shape coefficients for wind calculation)
Cross sections
SettingDescription
Ax, Ay, Az Cross section area and shear areas for shear forces Qy, Qz
Ix, Iy, Iz Moments of inertia (torsion, bending around y, bending around z)
U, UIN Outside perimeter length, inside perimeter of hollow boxes
CS-Beg Cross-section type assigned to the element begin
CS-End Cross-section type assigned to the element end
Note: the cross-section values are averaged values between begin and end
Orientation
SettingDescription
Direction Code for establishing the default local coordinate system
  • Deck: Standard case (element predominantly horizontal)
  • Pier: Element vertical or predominantly vertical
Beta Rotation angle of the local coordinate system around the element axis
Alpha1 Elevation angle of the element axis (co-domain -90° to 90°)
Alpha2 Plan angle of the element axis (co-domain 0° to 360°)
Note: The angles Beta, Alpha1, and Alpha2 describe the local coordinate system and are user defined fo spring elements (default: 0.0, 0.0, 0.0). For beam and cable elements, only the angle Beta can be modified by the user.
Material
SettingDescription
Material Name of the material assigned to the element
E-Mod Young's modulus (modulus of elasticity
G-Mod Shear modulus (= E-Mod/(2*(1.0+Poiss))
Poiss Poisson ratio (lateral strain coefficient)
Alpha-T Temperature expansion coefficient
Gamma Specific weight
CS Plane
SettingDescription
Begin Code for the orientation of the cross-section plane at element begin
End Code for the orientation of the cross-section plane at the element end
  • Normal: CS plane is normal to the element axis
  • Vertical: CS plane is parallel to the global Y direction
  • Horizontal: CS plane is parallel to the global X-Y plane
  • Angle:  The deviation from the normal is defined by user defined angles XoY, XoZ
SinXoY Sine of the deviation of the CS-Y-axis from the element y-axis (Yl)
SinXoZ Sine of the deviation of the CS-Z-axis from the element z-axis (Zl)
Global Hinges Disconnected DOF's between element and nodes (related to the global directions and - in case of eccentric connections - arranged at the nodal point)
Local Hinges Disconnected DOF's between element and nodes (related to the local directions  and - in case of eccentric connections - arranged at the elastic element end)
SettingDescription
